Bought in Feb. Had to contact Navigon by email to register, then still could not update to 3rd q 2009. 1st q 2010 came out and that updated ( but you have to have a memory card 2gb or better I used 4gb sdhc ). Bit of a pain, But I got everything to work and ended up with a very responsive gps with up-to-date maps an text-to-speech for about $39.

I believe the company no longer makes GPS’s. So, I don’t believe you can update maps at their website. The GPS has all I would need. I only need it so I don’t get lost. I’ve tried it on ways I know the best way to go, and it sometimes shows a weird way, but you wouldn’t get lost. So far, it has been fast to pick up a signal, and has a signal in areas my 2006 Magellan didn’t. You do have to be careful not to put it into “standby” mode when you want to turn it off, standby will drain the battery. You have to hold the button down until it turns off to actually turn it off. Overall, I’d recommend it to other people, but let them know the compnay no longer makes GPS’s.

I work for a designated driver service in St. Louis MO. The we use 3 units in the vehicles- one car uses a TomTom, which is excellent and current, another uses a Magellan that locks up and has been known for sending you in a loop and does not have the most current maps- essential for us when we have to pick up one of our drivers, or pre-stage a vehicle. ANd another has a built in factory (Ford) GPS.

I got this GPS on eBay for less than $50, and was impressed at how easy it is to use and the visuals are superior to the Magellan! Sometimes, my clients have had a bit too much fun..and I have to use my own GPS to get them home.

It seems to be better than the Magellan..trying to update these maps is a pain, as I cannot get the most current version for my region; nor update the POI list.

And when entering the registration and activation info, the unit stonewalls me.

But..for the price, it’s excellent, and I would have no problem using this with my motorscooter..once I rig an outlet for the plug/antenna, and get a second mount.

I picked up one of the refurb units at a great price and I couldn’t be more happy with it.

I have had another GPS for several years that I have always had good luck with.

But I wanted a second one so I wouldn’t have to switch cars all the time and I figured this unit would be great for the car less traveled.

WOW it’s better than my Mio that I have had for 2 years and I got it for a third of the price.

It arrived in perfect condition and it still has a valid subscription even though the company is no longer making units in the U.S.

They still continue to publish updates for it.

    Including new maps.

    Great product.

My husband is the main user of this GPS and he says that it works well. The price can’t be beat as well. We were very happy with the company who sold us this item.

I bought this unit on Amazon for a very good price. The unit condition is like brand new. It works ok but the maps are slightly outdated. This unit came with a certificate for a 2yr free map upgrade but I was not able to update my unit. I contacted navigon support and they replied by saying that I am not the only person with this problem and they are working on it. So – I searched online and everyone with is having this update problem. Navigon support sucks………

Buy this unit if u want a basic gps but i would not pay more than $50 for this unit.
