Nuvi 350, Great Product
Great product. Easy to use, navigates exactly as designed. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a lower cost GPS. Even though this unit was sold and purchased as “reconditioned”, you could not convince me this was anything but a brand new unit. Glad I waited and purchased this unit thru Amazon.com.
WELL WORTH THE MONEY FOR THIS EASY TO USE DEVICE.
I HAD THIS SAME DEVICE FOR ABOUT A YEAR WHEN IT GOT STOLEN OUT OF MY VEHICLE DURING A BREAK IN. I LIKED IT SO MUCH THAT I WENT LOOKING FOR THE EXACT SAME MODEL AND FOUND IT AT AMAZON. IT COMES WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED SO YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY ANY LITTLE EXTRAS. ALSO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS NEAT IS THAT YOU CAN GO TO THE GARMIN WEBSITE, REGISTER YOUR DEVICE, THEN GARMIN GIVES YOU A FREE MAP UPDATE AND ALSO OFFERS FREE LITTLE DOWNLOADS TO YOUR DEVICE LIKE DIFFERENT VOICES OR SYMBOLS THAT REPRESENT YOUR VEHICLE ON THE SCREEN. MAKES IT FUN! (REGISTERING IS FREE) ALTHOUGH THIS DEVICE IS NOT MADE BY GARMIN ANYMORE THEY STILL SUPPORT IT. GREAT PRODUCT.
garmin is the best!
i bought this for my mom, who is not really confident using electronic devices. she loves this gps and has never had any issues using it, straight out of the box. i own a garmin as well, and would not buy any other brand.
Good service
This item came in the condition it was promised and it came very fast. The only issue I have is that sometimes the system freezes for no reason. It also tells me to go around all the great lakes to get from Syracuse, NY to New York, New York. That’s pretty inconvenient. Other than that… it’s a pretty good product and easy to use.
Works great
This GPS is exactly what I was looking for, very easy to use, accurate, and reliable.
great price
can’t beat the price and the GPS looks like new. Comes with all the accessories.
Very User Friendly
This is my second Garmin Nuvi 350 that I’ve own (my car was stolen and had to replace the first). I’m actually finding this refurbished unit to be more reliable then the first which I bought brand new! Although it sometimes has a slight delay in finding the current satellite location, I’ve simply learned to be sure I program the address outdoors and allow a few extra minutes for the unit to calculate. Outside of that, it’s extremely easy to use and has various displays to suite your preference. Garmin has an excellent reputation and the refurbished unit is the best bang for your buck!
garmin nuvi 350 refurbished
This product seems fine. I was a little nervous buying refurbished but except for the box seems brand new. It was quite a good savings and I would definitely purchase again.
Super Deal
I bought a refurbished Garmin Nuvi 350. It is the first GPS receiver I have owned, though my son has had a Garmin for several months. I agree with the majority of respondents that you would have a difficult time distinguishing refurbished from new. My unit arrived on time and had maps that were a little out of date. Getting them updated online was easy. It took about an hour with Roadrunner. The Nuvi 350 is simple to use and has some nice features. I did not need the mp3 player, book player or picture viewer, but text to speech was essential and I could not beat the value or the $110 price. It worked great on the road. Satellites were quickly accessed and a suitable route determined. The routes were not always what I would have chosen, but I can see the value of gps devices in a strange city. I am completely satisfied with the purchase.
So far: So/So
I purchased a factory refurbished Garmin Nuvi 350 in July 2009. This was my first time owning, but not using, a GPS. I received the product fairly quickly and in great shape, no scratches or screen problems. It came with a GPS to computer cable, a dashboard and windshield mount, a car charger, a carrying case, and a small pamphlet of information (the manual is on the GPS memory/or online). It also came with the North American 2009 maps. I tested out connecting to my computer and even adding mp3 files, all good so far. However, when I used it on a test drive it lost its signal on a long, open stretch of road and need to be turned off and reset. It also was difficult to hear when using with the windows down, but that is sort of expected.
Pros:
Good screen brightness.
Included all accessories and new maps.
Mounts easily and effectively.
Announces the Street names before turning.
Good Battery life.
Cons:
Sometimes loses signal and needs to be turned off, and or reset(hard to do while driving).
Low volume if driving with windows down.
ABC, not QWERTY on screen keyboard.
Have to press Warning agree button every time turned on.
Released in 2005.
Neither:
From pressing the On button until Maps are loaded it takes about 30-40 seconds.
Flip up antenna.
Overall at this point it is only OK for me, I will need to test it out more to see if it loses it signal more times when I am driving (about 4 times so far), but that is the my biggest problem with it.
Just the thing for a driving vacation!
I’ve wanted a GPS for a long time, but the cost, plus having to purchase add on maps had always kept me from getting one. I decided to take a chance on a refurbished one for a vacation to Colorado we had planned.
We recieved the GPS unit the day before heading out, so early the next morning, I was reading the manual while my wife drove. All advertised cables, chargers, etc. were in the box and all looked new. At our first stop, I attached the GPS mount to the windshield, connected the GPS, and turned it on. Everything worked great from the start. It showed the exact location, with a complete road map of the little town we were in. Throughout our vacation, we couldn’t find a road that wasn’t in the GPS, even some dirt roads in State parks.
I was able to key in the locations we were wanting to visit in the evening, then the next day, the Nuvi 350 took us there. One of the things I like best about it was it told which lane to be in for offramps and turns on multi-lane roads; very nice on busy highways and in cities.
Another thing I liked was having so many waypoints. When we needed gas, food, or anything, the Nuvi would bring up a list of options, then guide us to the one we picked.
The voice was clear and easy to understand. The screen was easy to navigate. All maps needed for USA were already loaded. Worked first time and every time. I’d definately recommend this unit for first time GPS buyers.
hate it more than anything I own
There are so many things bad about this unit but here are a few:
-it doesn’t give enough warning for turns, maybe 300 feet and I can’t look at it in heavy traffic to determine which lane I need to be in, makes me crazy
-It won’t give direction for which way to turn out of a parking lot. Please, this is a basic need.
-It can’t find a satellite for many, many minutes even in populated areas, not out in the woods.
-We have paid for updated maps and they are STILL outdated. It has directed us to non-existent freeway exits, non-existent roads in the Smoky Mountains and Charlotte County FL.
-It cannot recognize that we have exited the freeway (on it’s instruction) and tell us which way to go next.
I don’t know why it isn’t broken in a thousand pieces due to it’s outrageous stupidity.
And I can’t believe how many people are happy with this crappy unit.
Now I can’t trust any other reviews I read in trying to find a more reliable GPA system. Hell.
Garmin nuvi 350 – LOVE IT!
This is a great GPS. Haven’t tried out all of the features yet. Will buy a friction mount so it doesn’t fall off the window.
nice little gps
perfect , pretty much everything i needed from a bluetooth plus i get 1 free maps upgrade !i upgraded mine to 2010 maps.the maps are pretty good for every where but a little off around the freeway close to my house which is understandable since its new construction.the screen size is good enough.the brightness id fine even in high sunlight.the volume is even good on noisy streets.there were more expensive ones that had more features like bluetooth but i dont think that i would wanna take my personnel calls on a gps speaker.i’d rather invest in a good pair of bluetooth headset.
cons:
not really a con but one thing that i didnt like was how the alphabets are on the keyboard.they are in an “a,b,c….” format instead of a regular computer keyboard format.i am so used to the compute format that its kinda hard to switch.but its fine
Garmin Nuvi 350
I have found this device to be wonderful. It works perfectly for cross country roadtrips and even just going around town. When we first moved to our new city, this thing was my life line getting me out and about! I have also found that Garmin International Customer Service is excellent. They truely stand behind their products! Thank you Garmin!!
Garmin Nuvi
The Garmin Nuvi works better than I expected. The device also came to me in immaculate condition. However, the device did not arrive when I expected it to. However, after using the GPS for a few weeks I don’t know how I ever lived without one.
A Great Buy. Garmin Nuvi 350
I wouldn’t be able to tell a factory refurbished from a new unit. This product arrived packaged in exactly the same manner as brand new device…and with no blemishes. Astounded that this product arrives with an AC adapter, car charger and a nice window mount. The folks who refurbed this unit are complimented. Since this recent purchase, I have taken this product on many lengthy road trips; local, multiple states, Canada…city, highway and on rural routes. It performs perfectly. The “Fuel” feature came in handy when driving a rental car and realized I was down to fumes. It found the nearest gas station and just in time. This was a great buy at an awesome price.
good product
This Garmin product does seem to work very well for the most part. like most they operate via satellite and sometimes get hung up in certain area’s. On the other hand they also have much more convenient routing sometimes than other GPS’s from what I understand. I like that this one came with the newest map updated and that it did work fairly well (Better than the older map versions) while in Canada. Obviously having the extra features to buy to get real time traffic updates isn’t a convenience but I did know that prior to purchasing it. all in all though a relatively smooth and easy to use product.
Thr Road more Traveled
This product is my 2nd purchase of the Garmin, first the Garmin Nuvi 360 which turned out to be problematic, the system locked and could not be reactivated even after calls to Garmin and Amazon.I now have the 350. and I am delighted with this model. It does not have the ‘blue tooth’ feature but that may have been the problem in the first place. I am a Garmin Man and wonder how I got along without one for so long . The calling out of stree names is aselling point and the access to other features is a plus
Love the Nuvi 350
I am using the Nuvi 350 to replace the built in GPS on a 2000 Mercedes S500. It is terrific and so much better than the Mercedes GPS. I have stuck the suction mount to the screen in the center of the consule and the Nuvi screen essentially replaces the rather lame Mercedes GPS (and no three state CDs to use either.)
