When I first got this product, it was not a retail package, it has been opened. I guess they updated the map of my GPS, I am not sure. The service anyway is one of the best I have ever met. I recommand this merchant.

Unit works very well.. Satellites take a bit long to acquire but happy with it’s performance, once satellites are acquired..

This is a nice GPS and works well. Sometimes little slow to give you the turn instruction but a minor issue compared to what it does for you on the road. Amazon is great with its service. I wanted to give 4 and half stars though.

When you turn this unit on, you watch the screen say “Loading Maps” for several minutes. Then it finally says “Acquiring Satellites” which it displays for another five minutes before the unit finally starts working.

So you’re driving for up to ten minutes before the device even knows where you are.

In a previous comment someone suggested this is not a problem … just turn on the device before you leave the house! How about just leaving it on all night???

If you want to get a device that works when you turn it on (a novel concept, I know) buy a TomTom.

The main reason I bought this Garmin is the routing option it is supposed to have. 1st problem is that it does not have an option for truck (commercial) like the Street Pilot did. There are some roads in my area (LI New York) that you can’t take a commercial truck on. The only thing you can do is block all highways. Seems kind of stupid to have a routing option but not let it block the roads that you can’t take a commercial truck on. 2nd. The routing software is not that great, and if your stops are real close together it gets very weird.

Well I have only had my 750 for a few days but so far it seems to work really well. First thing I did was check to see if it needed any updates and there were some firmware and other updates. Then I went to see if there were any map updates. The initial download for map updates was 1.92 gig!! I am currently waiting for the maps to be installed. It is slow and is Java based.

I looked at A LOT of GPS units, and settled on the 750. The value could not be beat; good interface (save for a few minor quirks), small size, windshield and dash mounts included, and all for $198 thru Amazon with no cost for shipping! Can’t beat that with a stick. Highly recommended.

This is my first GPS and I did a lot of research prior to buying. My only mistake was not buying this unit years ago. It is great and offers many features I didn’t expect. The search for local businesses is terrific. If you do any traveling at all, get one of these. Very easy to use.

Great Unit. Fast Shipping. Great price….What more can anyone ask for.

I’ve waited a long time to get a gem like this. If you’re considering a GPS, this is the one to get!

Works great and easy to use. Wish it would have come with house charge, had to order separate.

Completely satisfied with the Garmin nuvi 750. Unit does all I need it to do and is very user friendly. Other family members have purchased this unit after using mine. A good value!

Haven’t yet tried it on an unknown stretch of highway, but did travel to CA Bay Area and loved the way it always had me in the correct lanes well ahead of freeway changes – Bay is infamous for leaving highways from the left as well as the right and even though I’ve made the same trip a couple of times a year for the past umpteen years, my stress level was reduced 95% just to know for sure about the next change.

I’ve currently no need of blue tooth capabilities, so I think I purchased the right one for me. The “announcer” doesn’t always know the correct pronunciation of a street name, but it’s close enough and clearly spoken.

I’d have given this unit the maximum number of stars except that it doesn’t come with a complete manual. You must download from the manufacturer and one, my computer wasn’t capable of getting that far into pdf files and two, I’d want it printed out, not saved to computer or disc, and I’d not want to waste the money on ink and paper.

We just completed a 3500 mile trip from our home in upstate New York down I-95 and all over Florida. This device was great. We used it to find lodging for the night. Look up what was at our stop point, pick a unit , call while on the road and make reservation. We used it to find golf courses, restaurants and many places to visit. Glad we bought it.

I purchased one of these units severals weeks ago and used it on a short pleasure trip. The unit is fairly intuitive and it is easy to use for basic navigation without instructions. It does have a few minor glitches especially at the beginning of a new route as it tends to turn you in the wrong direction initially. However, it recalculates quickly and does a commendable job of navigation. Garmin says that a software update will fix these glitches.

This is where my less than stellar review begins. To put everything in perspective please know that I am in “bandwidth HELL” so I am stuck with a dial up connection. Garmin does not offer a disc for all of it’s updates. It would take me several hours to download their recent update for this unit. In addition, their website is convoluted and confusing. In fact, it has the poorest website navigation I have ever used and I have been using the web since the early 1980s.

That said, I am happy with the unit as is.

I’m so glad I got this at the recommendation of a friend. I don’t get lost anymore. I feel confident going places and I like the voice as a back up and also to look at the directions. Make sure you get a good case protector. I got one of those hard mush and it works fine. Just remember to have your car charger pluged. I forgot to plug it in and battery ran out and it went off in the middle of my trip (lol) but it does warn you that your battery is low. I was too busy on the cell phone.

Overall it’s ok. There were a few glitches, like when the voice directions suddenly disappeared from the Garmin. I needed to call the support 800 number to reprogram the unit. The 4.3 screen is nice and bright. No need to use the FM on your radio, for directions.

It’s new and in good packaging…. I use it in Asia, but too bad the map is not for preloaded with Asia Map and I need to search it by myself from other websites…and it’s somehow not compatible with Garmin’s features. However, I will still recommend it to my frens… it’s nice.

This is one great product! I recently purchased a business which requires me to go all over the state (Utah), city and rural. Only once was it unable to get me to the given address which was in such a small town that everyone knew exactly where I needed to go! I bought this particular Garmin because it allows me to program more than one destination at a time. I have used both the map with verbal directions and just the written directions. Both were easy to follow once I got the hang of how the directions are given. My only complaint is that sometimes the verbal prompts are somewhat garbled and difficult to understand. Other than that I love it and wonder how I ever got around without it!

I got this for my wife. I have a NUVI 200. This was less expensive and has many more features.

I highly recommend the NUVI line of GPS to all drivers.
