Great Hardware. Software?
Ordered it three days ago, with an expected delivery date of 10/04 to 11/01. Got it today (three days after order), very surprised. Installation on my WiFi iPad was trivial, as per the user manual. Immediately got a solid GPS lock on the second floor of my three story house. Works just fine with Google Maps. Problems began when I tried to download other software to interface with it. So far, all GPS Apps I’ve tried refuse to install, saying they’re not compatible with my iPad. Apple support is clueless, saying that the manufacturer claim that the hardware is Apple approved is not true. They say I need to contact the software vendors to report installation issues. Am giving GNS the benefit of the doubt – it’s a new device, and it’s not unreasonable to get a few bumps in the road early on. I bought this device because I didn’t want to go through the hassles of jailbreaking my iPad (warranty, support, questionable software, etc), and this was the only other option to get GPS support. Will report back once I find a software solution, and perhaps add stars…
