No Macintosh support
I do not know how this product operates because before I purchased, I contacted Magellan and they offer NO MACINTOSH SUPPORT. There is no way to upgrade/upload maps or any features unless you have access to a PC. They do not accept emulation via Parallels or Fusion. I do not have Boot Camp so I’m not sure if that would work.
Great GPS
I’ve had this now for a few months, and so far no problems. Did a map update and firmware all went great. Love the Triple AAA ratings and Highway exit features. The 5″ screen makes a big difference, plus they added a new mount for there newer models, the power plug is mounted on the window mount, so now you can slide gps on and off with out the hassle of trying to plug in the power adapter. Would and will buy again, makes nice gifts.
Not Apple friendly
In this day and age, I can’t believe that products are still only PC-compatible. These technical specifications should have been first on every single website about the product, including Amazon’s. It’s in the very small print that Magellan’s software needs a PC running Windows Vista or Windows 7 to operate. This was printed on the front of the box when I received the product, but none of the product pages that I looked at listed this as a system requirement. I own an Apple MacBook, and I certainly don’t plan on contacting my PC-owning friends every time I have to charge or update my GPS unit. This information should’ve been clearly stated on the product page for Magellan and for Amazon. Garmin has MacBook-compatible products, and that’s the product I will probably purchase next after I return this nice and shiny brick that doesn’t work with my computer. It’s a shame, since it looks like a decent product.

We bought this over 14 months ago (not from Amazon), and it works just fine, no complain what so ever, and the price is affordable. The traffic part was useful to us only a few times, can’t say much positive about the traffic maps since not used it as often as I thought we would.
