This was such a cute idea. My daughter is in love with Dale Jr. You can imagine her disappointment when it didn’t recognize her address, nor the streets or addresses of many of the places in our area. It was frustrating and useless. In a phone call to the manufacturer we were informed that we could request certain streets, and they would “consider” adding them next year. We don’t live in Podunk, Nowhere. We live in The Woodlands, just north of Houston, the fourth largest metroplex in the nation. You’d think their satellites would recognize this area. We returned it for a refund.

I bought these as Christmas presents, so hopefully they will work okay. The packaging looks brand new, in which they are brand new. I received them promptly in good packaging. So far I am very happy, and I’m sure when they are opened at Christmas, my husband & son will love them.

I bought this GPS over 4 months ago even though I did not need one since my phone all ready has GPS on it. I love this one. Traveling by plane and using my phone GPS is simpler but I take my SPOTTER GPS along. I enjoy hearing Dale Jr give directions. There are additional voices that give more detailed direction (name of streets). I have been watching the price for this GPS on [...] and [...] and the price on AMAZON is the best so far.

Just Wish I could listen to the race on it.

I must say I was excited to get this new GPS unit. However, I have been extremely disappointed with it. It seems to have some cool features, but on a regular basis it does not find addresses for me. The manufacturer doesn’t have an update available. Their helpdesk suggested that I look up the address on Google Earth, then get the Latitude and Longitude coordinates, then input those into the GPS device for accurate directions. I say no thanks. I’ll go back to using my Garmin.

Got this for my hubby who is a huge jr. fan. Drove from Louisiana to Branson with it. On the plus side, it was nice to hear Jr.’s voice. Specific probs: Had probs finding our location! Honestly, it didn’t know where we were! On two occasions, it took us on a wild goose chase only to put us right back where we started from – so basically ran us in a circle for about 30 mins each time. Twice on the interstate, it was telling us to “hang a left here”. In the middle of the interstate. Very frustrating. We own a TomTom but had loaned it to the kids as were traveling to separate destinations and we bought this one for us. Doesn’t compare to Tom. We so wanted to like this product b/c it’s a great concept, but it’s going back!

I like this GPS. Good thing it talks because it lays on the passenger seat. The suction cup mount broke after a week of extremely careful use. I registered the product and e-mailed the RightWay customer support about this, that it broke way too easy given the limited use and extreme care in handling it. I wish I could say the response was lousy, but it was worse than that. After three e-mails and no response, I bought my own mount which has been working fine for about a month now.

If you plan on buying this GPS, be prepared to include another $25 or so to the final price tag to cover the cost of a new mount. I truly hate companies like this.

UPDATE: The touchpad completely stopped working, making the unit useless. This time, I did get a response from RightWay customer service. On the first try. I had to post this update, because this time they were great. When I sent the unit back, I included the broken mount in the box. Not only did they send me a new mount, they repaired and returned the unit to me in less than a week. From no stars to five stars. As for the performance, I love this thing. Anyone having problems with bad directions from this unit either has a defective unit or did not understand or read the operating instructions. When you add an address location, it asks you first for the city or zip code. Next, a street name. And finally, a house number. I was keying in the house number prior to the street name… you will confuse the unit if you do not put in the address exactly as it asks you to. I live in the Pittsburgh suburbs, and had to go dahn-tahn today. An insurance company near Heinz field. It took me from the expressway to the city streets and back through the rural country roads without missing a turn. You can have it give you directions from quickest, shortest or economical perspectives. You can change from Dale Jr.’s voice, to other ones that will also speak street names. And you can change views from 3D, 2D and many others. Very customizable for even the most picky and demanding user. Well worth the price tag.

I’ve used a friends Nuvi simultaniusly with the Dale Jr and the Nuvi was way off – had me heading down dead end roads into the lake! The Dale Jr GPS gave me right on directions. I love it! I’m on the road a lot and usually alone so it has been a life saver. The screen is the right size and it’s small and light weight. Beats the Garmin Nuvi for me!

It’s what I thought I was getting and shipped when they said. Very satisfied with the purchase.
