Solid GPS Navigation for Semi
I purchased my WorldNav at atruck stop about 6 month ago.
Although there was no major fixes that I needed on this device I did call them and let company know about one restriction that is not listed. Surprisingly they sent to me a new update the same day. I love the function where I can see on the map restricted roads showing me where I not suppose to be. I can search for scales along the route and find companies I go to by phone number if I need to.
Driving without truck GPS specific device is not safe. Tickets are also very expensive. All in all I am happy with my purchase and would recommended my friends to get one.
Excellent for commercial trucker
I do not know how I managed to drive a truck without using commercial GPS. I purchased WorldNav on line and glad I did it. Screen is big and device looks rugged. Speakers are loud and routing is so far been great.
I travel a lot and having this type of GPS is essintial.
I like that device offers on the screen preview of route and shows all the restrictions as you travel.
Maps are updated 3 to 4 times per year and I like that.
Put recently rear view camera on the device. At the push of the button I can see on my screen clearly the rear view.
Nice GPS system for trucks
Driving with this device gave me a reliability I been looking for.
WorldNav has loud speaker and a very nice bright screen.
I been using their Yellow Pages to locate my deliveries and so far found every one of them. The list of businesses is very complete. I checked and I see they use NavTeq data that appears to be very complete.
I am planning to put rear view camera and hope that will work as well as the GPS. The feature of showing restricted roads in red is very nice.
The device I purchased has 1 year warranty and 1 time update. I checked and updates are done 3 to 4 times per year.
Warning!!!!!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DAN ELECTRONCS
If you buy any electronics don’t buy from DAN ELECTRONICS there CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! They won’t return any gifts even if there unopened, they wouldn’t even exchange it for something I could use! Buyer Beware Stay Clear of this Seller!!!
Nice GPS system for trucks
I purchased my system almost 1 year ago.
I think that my knowledge of roads in US is not very good. The WorldNav GPS system was a godsend to me.
On many occasions although it did not route it the way I thought it was right I followed it to find that suggested route is actually better.
I think it is the first time I had a system where I could call company to ask a question and not spend 2 hours to look for an answer in the manual.
Having 7 inch screen with a loud speaker is a plus for me. The battery does not last long if you unplug the device (It hink about 40 min) but then again I keep my GPS plugged in all the time.
I like that maps show restricted roads in PINK color and I can always click on the road to see why it is restricted. Another thing I like about the system is that updates are simple. They send you a new card and you just need to plug it in. No downloads that take hours and then do not work
go for the garmin
i drive a semi for a living in chicago and this product was behind bye a about a 1/4 mile on every street not to mention it didnt have half the streets on it call me crazy but i believe a product should work out of the box . i returned it and purchased the garmin 465t worked perfect right out the box it new all the bridge heights in chicago but after i purchased it i tested it out in my car to see how acurrate it was and i give it a 4 outa 5
Bigger is not better
The screen is nice, but the graphics from world nav is not a bit neat, just like scribbled. It takes for ever to build up the route. When you shut it down, you have to start all over again when starting up. It doesn’t just stop navigating where you stop, when switched on again it starts from where you are and all the other miles are lost. At startup it takes quite a while ’till it found its satellites.
Great GPS
My WorldNav gps was easy to learn, big enough that I can read the street names, and is real easy for adding new waypoints. While not a big deal, it’s too bad I can’t enter a multi-point trip. Then again maybe there is but I haven’t figured it out yet! Still learning the gps side, have not tried adding photos, music, or movies.
World Nav. for trucking
We were using the GPS, Tom Tom and loved it the only problem was it was for personal travel in cars. As an owner of a semi, we needed something which navigated us using roads we are legal to be on. A few friends has just purchased the World Nav. so we researched it. We found it to be a little pricey compared to other versions but chose it because of the professional driving options. We like everything so far except for the screen seems to flicker. We are getting used to how it operates but would love to have a combination of Tom Tom and World Navs best options for our next future GPS.
Navigated me thru the city
The TeleType 710060 WorldNav portable GPS unit is for RV owners, Bus Drivers and Truck Drivers, it also features a 7-inch touch screen, Mp3, Video Player and Picture Viewer, as well as including preloaded maps of the US and Canada.
Are you looking for a navigation device that is just as versatile as it is efficient? There are a few out there that can play both sides of the coin in offering great features for multiple types of users. Teletype Worldnav 710060 GPS is one of those units; because while it was created specifically to meet the needs of truck and bus drivers, it can be effective for those driving in a smaller vehicle as well.
truckdriver
product will take you way out of route when you know a shorter legal route
disapointment
I purchased this GPS with great anticapation. I drive a truck for a living. Getting directions through city streets are critcal. This product is terrible on rerouting, does’nt have addresses listed that have been around forever. The display sucks. Can’t see it under sunny conditions.
A $450.00 GPS SUPPORTED BY A $2.00 MOUNT
I REALLY LIKED THE TELETYPE 710060. BUT THE SUPPORT MOUNT IS VERY CHEAP AND BREAKS EASILY AT THE POSITION JOINTS. MY SUPPORT MOUNT BROKE THE FIRST WEEK. I RETURNED IT AND RECEIVED AN IMMEDIATE REFUND.
nightmare
The truck driver version. Wrong turns, wrong freeway, wrong exits, put me on a freeway I didn’t want to be on and could not get the gps to change freeways, can’t pronounce street names, is worthless
Not perfect but I don’t want to be without it
I drive a car hauler and this unit has proven to be invaluable to me. It has never routed me down a restricted road nor taken me to a low bridge. I have mine set at 14ft.Ht.and rely heavily on its guidance. You do have to understand what each setting is supposed to do. For example, I originally had it set to “truck freeways” thinking this would route me primarily on highways and Interstates. This is not completely the case. After routing me quite a ways out of the way going west out of Nashville, I read the included booklet and found out this setting is designed to avoid major cities. This is why it took me around Memphis. I now have it set to “truck quickest” and find this works best for me. I am very happy with the navigation of this unit but it is not without its flaws. It is hard to see the screen in bright sunlight but I suspect the visor you can buy for it in the accessory kit would help. For me, I am going to buy an external antenna because I have a vehicle hanging way out over the hood most of the time. This makes it harder for it to lock on sometimes especially if I am going north. The volume is low in a noisy rig but the text on the screen tells you what you need to know and you can also just follow the arrow and highlighted line. Once you spen
Cant trust even for simple trips.Do not buy.
Does not do what it claims to do.Forget long trips because it will send you 75 miles out of route for a 450 mile trip. You would think that the prefer freeways mode would keep you on the interstate but it doesent, running business roads along side the interstat doesn’t make sense with stop lights and everything else that goes with being on those type of roads. If you already have one dont wait for them to try and fix the problem for you.Remember you have 30 days to return it and they will ask you to wait past that amount of time and call them back. The car mode on this unit works better for trucks and can be trusted more.It was to the point where I would check the whole route after putting in a destination and it would still screw up.For some reason while driving will recalculate route while driving and change route.Realy pisses you off when your pulling a 53 ft with a sleeper in Jersey and it tells you to go south on a road and after you get on it, it says make a u turn.Or instead of simply leaving a customer and taking a left to rt17 to 3 to the pike has you driving all over the city.Totaly wrong and a dangerous. The bridge avoidence would work great if I could fit a 13.6 under a 11 ft bridge.Lucky for me I’ve been driving for 15 years and when it told me to do something stupid I would know better
WORLDNAV 7100
I WANTED A GPS FOR TRUCK DRIVERS AND GOT A NIGHTMARE. THE SCREEN IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE DURING THE DAYTIME. AND IS VERY HARD TO HEAR THE SPEAKER, IT IS MUFFLED, AND SOUNDS LIKE SHES EATING A BISCUIT. ALSO BY THE SECOND DAY OF USE THE MOUNTING BRACKET BROKE. I CALLED TELETYPE AND THEY OFFERED MOSTLY COSTLY ADD-ON’S AS A SOLUTION. THIS CAN’T COMPETE WITH MY NUVI 760 FOR CLARITY OF SOUND AND SCREEN VISIBILITY, WHICH IS NOT FOR TRUCKERS.
Not worth it
Do not buy this product. It is junk. I doesn’t do what it promises. It can’t find its way around city areas without sending you a hundred miles out of your way. If you carry hazmat, definetely don’t buy this product.
TELETYPE WORLDNAV GPS710060
not the worst gps but not the best gps great for trucks just a little slow updating when you miss a turn although you have to remember that it is searching tons of roads that are and aren’t truck accsessible but way better than a vehicle gps since it is made mainly for comercial vehicles large screen so it’s easy to see where you are going overall not a bad buy
great concept!
Great concept! Too bad they didn’t apply the technology to this product. It does everything but navigate. The card had no info on it, we had to request a card with maps so the thing could actually navigate, then it still didn’t work. If we had followed the directions it gave us in our semi, we would either be stuck in an alley in Greece, or somewhere in the Pacific ocean. We returned it. Thank goodness Antonline is good about refunds! We’re back with Garmin and are getting around just fine.
